About

Designer first. Now I build what I design.

Graphic design came first. Then I taught myself to code and tried to switch to web development. It didn't stick, but it led me to UX: the one job where both halves were useful.

Six years later, the timing is finally right. AI has made starting to code far easier, so I'm going back for the other half, on purpose this time, with a designer's eye for what's worth building and how it should feel.

What I believe

Three things I'd bring to any team.

Get the problem right first.

Most of UX is understanding the problem correctly. Beautifully styling the wrong solution is the expensive mistake.

Pretty is allowed. Confusing isn't.

Visual polish matters, right up until it gets in the way of something being simple to use.

The handoff shouldn't be a cliff.

Designs should arrive as tokens, components and specs a developer can use. Ideally, as working code. With AI, design and code are drifting closer together, and the line between them keeps blurring.

The path

Eight chapters, most recent first.

  1. 2026 —

    Designer who builds

    Open to work, Reutlingen

React, Next.js and TypeScript on top of six years of UX design. This site is the first thing I've shipped with them.

  2. 2024 — 26

    UX Designer

    CData Software, Remote, Germany

Set up a structured design review, started the design system with the frontend team, and worked on modernising a legacy product.

  3. 2022 — 24

    UI/UX Designer

    WAFIOS, Reutlingen

Moved to Reutlingen. Kept the design system running, wrote the user stories, led backlog refinement and covered product roles when the team needed it.

  4. 2019 — 22

    Senior UI/UX Designer

    QBXNet, Lahore

Designed web and mobile features and established the design system I'd go on to maintain for five years.

  5. 2019

    Product Designer

    Zameen.com, Lahore

User research, stakeholder interviews and design guidelines for Propforce, a property sales portal.

  6. 2016 — 17

    Visiting Lecturer

    COMSATS University, Islamabad

Taught design at the university I'd graduated from a year earlier.

  7. 2015 — 16

    eLearning Designer

    360eLearning, Islamabad

Interactive, self-paced courses for UNDP, UNSSC and Medbridge, where design is judged by whether people finish.

  8. 2011 — 15

    Bachelor's in Design

    COMSATS University, Islamabad

Graphic design, and a first, stubborn attempt at code.
